Scan Documents to PDF on Windows — In Your Browser — exact PDF, in your browser

Use your webcam or an existing scan folder. The PDF is built locally — no software install, no upload.

How it works

How to windows scan to pdf

  1. STEP 01
Pick your source — webcam or files

Click “Scan with camera” to use your laptop or desktop webcam, or “Choose files” to point at a folder of scans from a flatbed scanner / phone.

  2. STEP 02
    Position the document well

For webcam scanning: bright even lighting, document flat, camera parallel. Aim to fill the frame with the page.

  3. STEP 03
    Capture each page in turn

Tap the shutter for each page. Re-take any blurry shots using the trash icon on the thumbnail.

  4. STEP 04
    Reorder and download

Pages can be reordered with up/down arrows. Click Download PDF — Windows will save it to your Downloads folder.

Why this works

Why this beats uploading to a generic converter

  • Nothing leaves your browser

Camera frames, file contents and the assembled PDF all stay in your tab. Verify in DevTools: no file payloads leave the page.

  • Scan or upload, mix as you like

Use the in-page camera, your phone’s native camera, or existing files from your device — combine all three in one PDF.

  • Page ordering and removal

Move pages up or down, remove the blurry ones, and the final PDF reflects exactly what you arranged.

  • No signup, no watermark

No account creation, no email, no “upgrade for full quality.” Free, in-browser, every time.

FAQ

Common questions

Do I need a scanner app or driver on Windows?+
No. If your laptop has a webcam, that’s all you need. For flatbed scanners, use whichever software came with the scanner to save images, then drop them here to merge to PDF.
Is my scan uploaded anywhere?+
No. Both the camera feed and any files you choose stay inside your browser tab. The PDF is built locally with JavaScript and offered to you as a download. Open your browser’s Network tab while scanning — no file payloads leave the page.
Why does the camera permission prompt appear?+
Browsers require explicit permission for camera access on every site. Granting permission only allows this tab to read your camera; it does not let us send anything anywhere. You can revoke it any time in your browser settings.
Can I add more pages after starting?+
Yes. Capture or upload pages one at a time, reorder them with the up/down arrows, and click Download PDF when you’re ready. Nothing is finalised until you download.
What image formats are supported?+
JPEG and PNG. If your phone produced HEIC files, save them as JPEG from your photo app first, or use the in-page camera which always outputs JPEG.
Is there a desktop app for fully offline use?+
A desktop app for fully offline document scanning is in development — sign up via the home page to be notified at launch.
