Which format should I choose?
JPG for photos and anything you upload to a form — every site accepts it. PNG for screenshots, logos and images with transparency. WebP for websites: smaller files at the same quality.
What happens to transparent parts when converting to JPG?
JPG can’t be transparent, so they’re filled with the background colour you pick (white by default). Choose PNG or WebP to keep them transparent.
Does converting reduce quality?
PNG is lossless. JPG and WebP are saved at high quality (92%), which looks the same to the eye. To reach a file size limit, use Compress image instead.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
