Frequently asked questions
What is a HEIC file?
HEIC is the photo format iPhones use by default. It stores photos in less space than JPG, but many websites and Windows programs can’t open it — converting to JPG fixes that.
Why is the first photo slower?
Browsers other than Safari can’t read HEIC, so a HEIC decoder (about 2 MB) is loaded the first time it’s needed. It runs on your device; your photos are never uploaded.
Can I get JPGs straight from my iPhone instead?
Yes: in Settings → Camera → Formats, choose “Most Compatible”. New photos are then saved as JPG. Photos you already took stay HEIC — convert those here.
Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs inside your browser. Your PDF is never sent to a server — it is stored only on this device so you can come back to it later, and you can delete it at any time.
